Sims 2 and Seasons

Filed under: Just Thinking, Sims — Roni @ 10:56 am

I have to say, though EA has disappointed me on other games, this is one of the most amazing games I have ever played. Seasons added a whole new dimension the the already engaging game–snow, hail, rain, thunder and lightening. Now that I’ve updated my computer, I have been able to turn up the detail settings. Not only do you have the dynamics of the characters you create, but you can drop in werewolves, vampires and a whole host of other types of odd characters to liven things up. Going on vacation, you can meet Bigfoot, the Witchdoctor and the elder of the Far East and learn to tell the dragon tale. You can also learn to travel like a Ninja. I just saw the other day that Sims 3 will come out before too long. So sorry, EA, I’m quite happy with this series–you’ve released 6 expansion packs and 5 “stuff” packs, I’ve added all of the expansion packs and 3 of the 5 “stuff” packs. I’m not about to start all over again, I’ve only filled one of the neighborhoods and haven’t even explored the other 3 AND a new neighborhood was added with Sims 2 FreeTime.

Besides, my experience with EA has been that the original release games are buggy, many things don’t work without being patched. This game finally runs really nice, so I’m not about to start testing some more of their products.

Buddy’s………..the best deep dish pizza around

Filed under: Just Thinking, Restaurants — Roni @ 10:41 am

Buddy’s Pizza has a lot of awesome food, but the pizza is the Detroit area’s #1 square deep dish pizza. There is a lively atmosphere with lots of regulars. My personal favorite pizza is–pepperoni, mushroom, onion, roasted garlic, feta cheese.

My favorite place in Dearborn for coneys, breakfast–the Monday through Thursday dinner specials are really tasty and the prices can’t be beat.

Jim’s Place–Polish American Food

Filed under: Just Thinking, Restaurants — Roni @ 10:35 am

This is good home style food, just like your Polish grandma would make. My personal favorites are: the combo plate, Polish meatballs or the home made pierogis–add the cabbage soup, it’s very good. And what would the place be without Bonnie ;) , anybody who has been there would know what I’m talking about. No back talk here!!! :)

Mountain Jack’s…………..now on the road, Traverse City, Michigan

Filed under: Just Thinking, Restaurants — Roni @ 10:28 am

Of all the places I’ve tried ribs, I like their’s the best, the sauce is amazing and I really enjoy the tableside salad bar. Unfortunately, the local restaurant just closed. :( I believe you can still find it on the road in Traverse City. The same quality food and a picturesque view of the bay.

Don’s Drive In………..on the road, Traverse City, Michigan

Filed under: Just Thinking, Restaurants — Roni @ 10:26 am

It’s the old drive in theme, tasty food, great shakes and it’s fun to pick up the telephone in your booth and place your order.

North Peak Brewing Company………….on the road, in Traverse City Michigan

Filed under: Just Thinking, Restaurants — Roni @ 10:25 am

This has much the same fare as Bonfire Bistro–including the Gorgonzola Ale Dip that I enjoy so much. The bar area is larger and so the atmosphere is a little peppier.
